We strive for improving the quality of research in Europe through providing better matching of bright young economists with European universities and research institutions. The European Job Market (EJM) provides a thorough and functioning platform that takes advantage of economies of scale, moves beyond national borders and makes connections that would not otherwise happen.
Higher quality matches between candidates and European institutions. Employers will be able to interview a larger set of candidates and with a signal that these students are indeed serious applicants interested in working in Europe. A key gain will be to get more universities to hire on the international market.
Better placement of PhD students from European universities. A large fraction of students would get access to jobs that they would not otherwise know about or be selected for.
How does the European Job Market work?
The EJM evolves in four phases:
Advertising Positions and Sharing Materials for EEA Job Market
EEA's partner organisation EconJobMarket.org handles the search listings (job advertisements), the transmission of applications and letters of recommendation, and interview scheduling for the European Job Market. Therefore, it is used by CANDIDATES who are on the Job Market and RECRUITERS interviewing for available positions. We strongly recommend that all RECRUITERS use this platform for all aspects.
